The gin, inspired by Guatemala and Mayan culture, is handcrafted and distilled five times in a copper pot still. They use bay leaf, black pepper, lemon, orange, cardamom and pericón, typical of Guatemala.

The name Xibal comes from the Mayan legend of Xibalbá, the underworld where souls go after death and undergo trials. Those who overcome them are transformed into stars. Mayan culture is also present on the label, which is decorated with hieroglyphs and a jade mask.
