This rum is aged for 5 to 15 years in a unique version of the solera system - in charred and uncharred American whiskey barrels, mature sherry barrels, and port barrels. It has a complex and distinctive aroma of charred wood with a subtle touch of vanilla in the background, where we further discover green apple, dried cranberries, lemon peel, dried orange and spices. It is a seductive, dry rum that literally explodes on your palate. The taste perfectly complements the notes of wood from the barrels, candied fruit, cherries, ripe fruit and spices such as clove. It has a long and mature finish.

A balanced blend of aged rums, matured using the solera system in lightly charred barrels and bourbon barrels. It gets its clear color through filtration through carbon filters. It is a relatively dry rum with a delicate yet complex taste, in which tones of wood and fruit are manifested. The delicate taste and clear color make it ideal for preparing cocktails, but you can also enjoy it on its own - on an ice cube.
Guatemalan rum Botran comes from the same distillery as Zacapa. Botran is produced using the solera system – layering rums of different ages. Below are the oldest rums, on top are the youngest rums. They add rums gradually and finally mix them into the final blend. Botran rum has a light taste, in which you can smell walnuts and pecans, and goes well with cigars. Rums from Guatemala are special in that they are distilled from sugar cane syrup, not from molasses or fresh juice.
