XO Haakon Royal Reserve is a celebration of the friendship between King Haakon VII of Norway. and AH Riise's son Valdemár Riise. This blend is mainly made from rum distilled in a pot still.

Tasting notes:
Color: Light yellow.
Aroma: In the beginning, vanilla, coconut and butter caramel dominate. Later, there are hints of caramelized, lightly toasted apple pie and a subtle floral note of lavender.
Taste: The primary aromas are also prominent on the palate, with the most prominent flavor being coconut.

The bottling process of the Royal Danish Navy is still heavily inspired by the methods used by AH Riise in his pharmacy on the island of St. Thomas. Whenever the Danish Navy docked at Charlotte Amalie, historical records show that they received regular supplies of rum from AH Riise.

AH Riise Royal Danish Navy is made to commemorate this esteemed era. Fermented molasses is distilled using the kettle method to an alcohol content of 85%. As a result, Royal Danish Navy has an admirably high ester content. Carefully selected barrels subsequently ensure its unmistakable taste.
