The second of the Unaged White Rum Series, an exclusive range of rums selected for bottling by Warehouse #1.

White rums are pure products of distillation. They are not affected by the wood of the barrels in which they matured, so we have the opportunity to get closer to their origin.
The NYE rum designation stands for New Yarmouth Distilleries. The origins of this Jamaican distillery date back to the mid-18th century. Otherwise, however, it is shrouded in mystery, as it has not received any visitors for centuries.

The WK in the title are Winston Kennedy's initials. It is not certain that Winston ever worked here in New Yarmouth. But from the research with which rum historian Matt Pietrek helped us, we found out interesting details about his life and career.

Winston Kennedy was a major figure in the Jamaican sugar industry for more than 50 years.
After successfully completing his studies at the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture in Trinidad in 1955, he returned to Jamaica. He worked in several now-closed sugar factories: Bookers, Frome and Rose Hall. In 1964 he obtained the position of Chief Chemist at the Barnett Sugar Estate in Montego Bay, also now defunct. From Montego Bay in 1973 he went to the Hampden Sugar Factory in Trelawn to work as an assistant manager. In 1979 he was promoted to manager of the Hampden factory near Duncans. A few years later, when he was appointed as a board member of the Long Pond Sugar Estate, his career track disappears. Until 2005, when he was the guest of honor at JAST (Jamaican Association of Sugar Technologists).

In the biography of Winston Kennedy, some places remain empty. It is quite possible that at some point he left Long Pond and moved to New Yarmouth. However, we will probably never know that, as well as other facts related to one of the most mysterious distilleries - New Yarmouth. However, we are honored to present a rare rum brand as a tribute to a key figure in Jamaican history.

The level of esters in NYE/WK rum varies between 1500 - 1600 ppm; is higher than is usual for typical overproof rums. It shows tones of acetone, citrus peel, white pepper, with hints of pears and peaches. It has a powerful, long finish.

A legend in the Warehouse #1 Overproof rum series linked to Jamaican folklore - that's Rolling Calf. In translation, the rolling calf, a mythical creature of Jamaican culture, which belongs to the so-called duppies.

It is said that the rolling calf is the spirit of a dead person in the form of an animal that roams the night looking for troubled souls. Most of these creatures are said to have fire and smoke coming out of their nostrils and a massive chain around their necks. According to legends, anyone can hear them, but only those who have the ability to perceive duppies, i.e. ghosts, can see them.

In the spirit of this mythical creature, we present TECA Wild Rum from Long Pond Distillery. Incredibly tasty rum with an ester content of 1300 g/ml, thanks to which you will definitely smell the fire and smoke. Warehouse #1 Overproof Rum TECA is a treasure from Trelawny.

The somewhat mysterious New Yarmouth Estate Distillery is located near the Clarendon Distillery in the area of the same name, not far from the Monymus sugar factory. Both still and column stills operate here. Rumor has it that Wray & Nephew Overproof rum is made here, as well as several rums that are blended. So it is possibly part of the Appleton brands - and many others.

The owners of the distillery are secretive, there is little information, and therefore even independent fillings are very rare. However, several vintage rums from 1994 have appeared recently.
Many rum aficionados consider New Yarmouth to be the holy grail of rums. They compete to be the first to enter the sacred gate and discover the distillery up close.

No one got inside yet, but for the first time we got a rum from the distillery that no one else had before: NYE/HM, the latest rum from the Warehouse #1 line of overproof rums.

This heavy fruit rum is bottled at a typical Jamaican strength of 63 % with an ester content between 500 - 700 g/HLPA. It is not officially confirmed, but the fermentation is said to be long, open and they use dunder.

Taste and discover for yourself the mysterious NYE/HM exclusive rum brought to you by Warehouse #1.
